Ward Heirwegh graduated in 2007 from the Graphic Design Department of the Ghent campus of LUCA School of Arts. In his design practice, Heirwegh devotes particular attention to typography, visual language and the editorial process. He collaborates with artists, curators, writers and architects on a variety of projects, including books, exhibitions, record sleeves and websites. In addition to teaching at Sint-Lucas in Antwerp, he is the founder of Sleeperhold Publications, a research platform for artist publications that offers room for experimentation with collaborative opportunities, including with the carriers and conventions of his discipline.
